Welcome to Únashay : place-based sanctuary for unmet grief

Join us in our Mighty Network

About Us

Únashay is building a connected web of grief bearers, death workers, deep listeners, plant workers, animals, body workers, movers, artists, musicians and more, to bring forth an accessible grief sanctuary on Tewa land in Abiquiú, New Mexico. As such, we are exploring what it looks like to build the village and claim localized sanctuary for unmet grief in our community, and beyond, by sharing in relationship with the land, connection to skilled nuanced grief support, accessible spaces for living, rest, creation, celebration, vigil (if one chooses), performance and art. We want to build a living landscape that is vast enough to match the inscape of grief of our times.

Why You Should Join Us

To be connected, listen, study with, learn and find real ways of claiming place-based sanctuary for unmet grief, whether at Ùnashay, or your own communities.

A Big Thanks

A huge thank you to all. As I keep saying, it will take the village to build the village. This is no new idea, it's a forged memory in all our DNA. And time to live our way back into this knowing.
